Concept of Infinity
The idea of infinity has always been baffling, can something really go on forever, unlimited and endless. The common symbol for infinity, ∞ was invented by the English mathematician John Wallis in 1657. The most common view of infinity is that it it a number but that is incorrect. Infinity is not a number, but a concept, something without end.
Infinity cannot be measured.
Infinite Universe
The question is do we live in an infinite universe? Well the answer is that maybe we do, but we can only see a finite section due to the finite speed of light.

Infinite Series
We can show that an infinitely increasing series in mathematics can have a finite boundary.
Take the series where each element is half the preceding element:
Sn = 1 + 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 ..... ∞
By simple algebra we can prove this is bounded by 2, ie
S∞ = 2
Hence for any finite value of n
Sn < 2
So from this can we be sure that even if something is forever increasing in size it may be bounded.
